TGIF!!!!

I am so glad this week is just about over. Tyler's eye continued to get worse Thursday, but then in the late afternoon it suddenly started to clear up. He was happy because he would be able to go back to school today. Yesterday, the class took a walk around the block. Well, we live right behind the school, so when they got to our house, I had twenty little ones in the front yard yelling "Tyler M. where are you? Why are you not at school?" So then Tyler went to the window and told them about his yucky eye and that he would be back today. That was so sweet that his little friends thought of him and it just really made his day to know they missed him. So then, we wake up this morning to a change of plans. He now has the yucky eye stuff in his other eye. I was so looking forward to finally being able to get some running done. So we are going to only do the necessary stuff then come hang out at home til daddy gets home. Then he can deal with him for awhile. I also actually finished five layouts Tuesday night, but still haven't been able to photo them to post. Hopefully later.

Ughhh

Tyler woke up this morning acting very funny. He didn't want to get up, and even after we got ready and took Britt to school, he kept telling me "I just don't want to move yet Mommy." When I got him his breakfast, his eye looked a little puffy and when I looked closer, his eyelashes were all crusty like they had been stuck together. Well, he didn't want to eat and by 9:30 I knew he wasn't going to school. He wouldn't even get off the chair. His eye just kept gushing gooey green stuff. So I called the doctor. She said that with the other sinus/cold stuff he is just getting over, he probably has a cold in his eye. But by the time the doctor called me back, about twenty minutes later, his eye was swollen halfway closed and really bloodshot. So she called me in some prescription eyedrops. So he was pretty ok about taking them. He is such a little trooper. I just hope he feels better tomorrow. He felt so wore out today, he didn't even make a mess all day.

Today

Actually, these first two pics are from yesterday. Out of the blue, Tyler punched Britt right in the nose. She started bleeding and ran for the bathroom. I sent Tyler to his room and ran for the camera. I asked if she would mind if I took a few pictures, she asked why, I simply said sibling rivalry page. She laughed and asked me to take one for her to use. Here they are:
Then today, this is what Tyler brought home from preschool. My first kiddie mother's day present from him. It is so cute. A plant in a cup. That they decorated themselves. I love him!
Then this morning, I drove up by Akron to go to a scrappy garage sale. This first pic if of my paper purchase. Not bad for about ten bucks.
This pic is some of the extra type stuff I found. The Maya Road coasters and boxes were a great deal for $1.25.
This next pic is more embellie stuff. MM rub on alphas, eyelets, buttons, flowers, and brads.
Some of the bigger stuff. Two albums, shimmers mist, embossing powder, sizzix die, Heidi Swap stamp sets, flowers, metal letters, and more flowers and eyelets.

And these pics don't include the almost full bag of stuff Britt made off with while we were going through stuff, lol. And since I came home and only spent half of what Shawn was expecting, even he was happy too. And since I was out and about, I stopped in at my old work to say hello to all my friends there. All in all, I have to say it was a very good day!

More layouts

Here are a few more layouts I have completed during the crop at YMBD.
This layout was for Meg's challenge to use at least eight sentences of journaling. I used pics of Tylers first day of preschool and journaled about all the ways he is growing not that he is in school. I also used this for this month's YMBD product parade as I used four YMBD journaling tags and red, blue, and black gears. This one also counts for this months Scrap The Boys challenge.
This one was for Susan's challenge to use quotation marks. This one also counted for the kit challenge at Coordinates Collections as this is all from their kit. This is the story. One day Tyler asked me for a tissue. After some recent tissue/toilet paper escapades, I asked why. Without missing a beat, he responded....
I immediately made him take his tissue to the chair for me to get a pic to scrap this story, lol.
This one was for Marti's challenge to use mini-alpha's on a page. I love these pics of Britt teaching Tyler to brush his no-hair and her letting him help brush hers. She is so kind a patient with him. This one also counted for the Coordinate Collections challenge to use photos taken in May. These were taken 5-10-07. I used a YMBD date tag and journaling spot on this one so it also counts for the YMBD product parade.

Wow, lots of scrapping, lots of completed challenges, I am feeling super accomplished for this week!!!

New layouts

I have been busy today scrapping for the crop over at YMBD. So far I have got five layouts completed. I think that is a record for me.

This one was for Susan's use distressed letters challenge. I painted them a gold/green mix, then dulled them with more gold, then sanded and inked. I used this weeks 52 sketches sketch for this one also. And it worked for Megan's pop it up monthly challenge at YMBD cause the cardboard flower is popped on three pop dots. So this was a great triple dip. I used a YMBD corrugated cardboard bloom, tree label, a journaling spot I stamped lines on, and the small flowers and brad I received in a YMBD grab bag. The chipboard swirl and button were from Kimmie for our stash swap.

This one was for Susan's put your title around a circle challenge. I LOVE the way this one came out. This one also counted for Susan's use the word spring in your title monthly challenge, so a double dip. I used a YMBD nested circle on this.
This one was for Marti's use a frame challenge. It also counted for Heather's monthly garden party challenge, Coordinate's Collections May Flower contest, and I used the week #21 sketch at Inspired Blueprints. The frames were from a YMBD grab bag and the bling brad was another stash swap item from Kimmie.

This one was for Marti's use circles challenge. It also counts for Julie's YMBD monthly black and white photo challenge and I used this month's one page layout sketch at Coordinates Collections. Another triple dip. On this one, I used two YMBD journaling spots, white nested circles, and black gears. These pics were really, really bad, but with a little playing and making them black and white, they became useable.
This one was for Heather's lift a DT Member challenge. I lifted one of Marti's layouts. I love this photo. Tyler had managed to climb up into one side of the sink and turn the water on in the other side. The first thing I thought of was getting the camera and I had Brittany move the chair he used to get up there.

That is what I have gotten done so far. Off to try to work on more!

YMBD Gives Back Crop

This weekend there is a crop over at YMBD. Here is the info:

Welcome everyone to our "YMBD Gives Back" National Scrapbooking Day Online Crop! We are so glad you joined us and are thrilled that you are going to help us "Give Back"! Official crop kickoff is 7pm EST tonight (Friday May 1st) and runs all weekend long! Deadline for all crop submissions is Midnight EST on Tuesday, May 5th. _____________________

So how is YMBD "Giving Back" you ask? Well.... The last time we "gave back" we colaborated as a group to make "Cards for Heros", which is a US based organization supporting US Military Troups. During that time, there were several requests wanting to support a Canadian cause next, and I promised we would! So here's the story... This May marks the 6th year of the anniversary that we lost my Dad to cancer. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on April 1st, 2003 and passed away only 5 weeks later (3 days shy of his 57th birthday). The sad part is, I really don't think I know anyone who's life has not been touched by cancer in some way or another. And we all need to work together to help find a cure. And YMBD is going to do that by donating proceeds from this weekend's crop to the Canadian Cancer Society. It really doesn't matter in the long run, which cancer society gets our funds, because any breakthroughs anywhere will benefit everyone around the world! And I know together we can all make a difference!

Please join us this weekend for tons of fun!
